G'day miz, yeah the weather is all over the place at the moment we've had three maybe four days you could call nice hot days since about October actually.
Ones coming up on the weekend hopefully with a predicted 34c I hope they get it right.
It's the end to the worst drought since white settlement though in a few places so this constant wet is really a bonus.

To give you an idea of the amount of rain we're talking about...just up the rode a few hours away from here they had 760ml in less than 24 hours. If your not up on your metrics then thats getting near two an a half feet of rain.

Now you'd better tell me where you went in the Sunburnt Landsmiley - smiley

Hi last year was our 2nd trip to OZ we started off in Sydney hired a car and drove up to Coolum Beach staying at various places, it's the only way to see things. Our first trip was in 2005 we based ourselves in Cairns and again hired a car drove to diffirent places Mission Beach, Port Douglas. I'd like to go to WA but it's just not as accesable as the east coast. Give it a couple of years.
Although you've had a cool year I wish we had those sort of temperatures at the moment the other night it was -9 lastnight -6. I have a terrible cold so I'm so envious of your weather year round.

Yes we went to Byron Bay didn't stay long though we stayed in Ballina that night and stopped there for breakfast the following morning. It's very nice there except for the flies NSW is full of em but as soon as we got to Coolangatta they'd gone QLD has no flies why?
I live in South Yorkshire England, so it's a bloody long journey. Though my Boyfriends family live in New York USA so we do visit then often. We're big travellers love packing the bags and going off for weeks on end. Both times we've been to Australia we've done short stopovers first in Hong Kong which was good and last year in Singapore which I'm not too fond of we have visited before, but got a bit of a freebie through Singapore Airlines.

Wanna swap countries or at leas the weather??? My feet have been freezing all day, even with ugg boots on.

I'd never swap my place in Ozsmiley - smiley.

I'll never quite understand how cold and in a lot of cases dismal the weather can be in the Northern Hemisphere.
You only have to join ... "The what's the weather doing were you are? ' thread to realise that it's basically cold and miserable for a lot of the time.
Yes snow and ice have their own beauty, and stark coldness casts a clean view, but I'd rather warmth and shadows casting cool relief anyday to having to stay inside to enjoy the benefits of heating etc.

Ugg boots, the quintessential Aussie tribal boot. Designed and developed here and sold to the world...smiley - sheep Baaa...

Just got back from a days fishing in and on the Pacific, topped off with a couple of cold ones at the Local...How good's this life then? smiley - cool

Well they're not the ugg name I bought them in Peregian up on the sunshine caost. The ugg name boots are made in China would you beleive and cost so much in the UK they're touching on out of reach! I bought 3 pairs back form Oz and slippers for my mom.
If I was where you are I'd not want to swap it either, though I found it cold in Sydney at night near the water but we'd been in Singapore for a few days where it was 36 degrees and humid so I guess it just felt cold. When we drove up to Dorrigo it was like England in november the day after it was really nice we went with the rangers into the rain forrest down to Crystal Falls which was very nice.

Dorrigo; very very pretty place and you would then realise why all the area north of it is called New England.
Sydneys a days drive and a whole world away from here thank god.
I've been no further south than 200 kilometres from here in nearly thirty years it has the most benign weather of nearly anywhere in OZ apart from the oct/nov storms that can sometimes get out of hand.
I have one pair of long pants and I honestly can't remember the last time I wore them and I don't own a jumper or a tie or a suit, just lots an lots of cotton shirts and board shorts.
If I was English I'd have to live in Spain or Portugal I think.

I guess you must spend a lot of time indoors when the weathers cold and unfriendly?

Oooh gets cold there in winter (your summer) We went to Tunisia once for a cheepy holiday it was so cold it should have been 90's but it wasn't and it was still their summer. My boyfriends parents were in Cyprus a couple of years ago at Christmas they said it was freezing and it's supposed to be an all year round resort. Then I guess you can never depend on the weather. But hey we had snow during the night it was about 4 inches thick this morning would you believe the sun came out and it all went like the click of a finger.
Australia to me is like UK and USA crossed, we go to New York loads and always say it's so similar don't know why though just one of those things.
