h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi and welcome to h2g2 - I am vegiman and have around on site for about a year now. If it is the friendly type of people you are looking for - You have found them - This must be one of the most friendly sites on the internet. The natives dont bite.

Believe it or not most of them understand most things adn can see how proud you are of your own home page.

The site might be running a bit slow at the mo, there are a lot of new people login in as Douglas Adams (DNA) is on a publicity tour. It will speed up when things settle down a bit.

If you want any help just ask and you will find an answer.

The first thing I suggest you do is go to the front page ( http://www.h2g2.com ) and put the 'who is on line link' on your home page.

but for now just click here
http://www.h2g2.com/users.cgi

and find out who is out there at this time.

Have fun - if you reply to this it will appear on my page - I will answer you when I am on line.

By refreshing your home page from time to time will allow h2g2 to update it and you can see if anyone has left you a message.

Hey Vegi!!
Ive put myself on some forum postings like ages ago and I noticed that they are still displayed on my homepage, will they be there for ever or will they go in the end?

No. The postings on your page will only be there if someone posts to them. If you make other posts yourself then some of the older ones will disappear as only so many are displayed at any one time. But you will always be able to check on older postings at any time, if you want to.

Have you seen the new h2g2 look.

If not click on the *My Details* on your home page in the goo. when there you will notice a new item that says *Goo* click on that and choose *alabaster* update it then return to your new home page. You can always get back to this display by clicking on *preferences* on the new site.

Thanks for that, Ive looked at the new look and I prefer the old one as its easier to read! green on blue (or the other way round) just doesnt work!! also its individual with white text on a blue background!

I agree with you - I much prefer the GOO skin.

The other is supposed to be faster to use but it tends to look like a thousand other sites.
