I've been in seven minds whether I should comment on GDZ's raising of children. It is the second time he writes about his punishments which I think is wildly out of proportions.

I could just have let it go, but maybe he wants advice or is not sure of what he is doing.

So I put my neck out. Also because it horrifies me what many kids have to endure.

I tried to be diplomatic and not too much know-it-all-better.

But now I'm a bit jitterish and cannot be objective about what I've written. What do you think?

I think that this is the thing that comes with single parenting. Usually it's about mothers being too soft. Now we have a single father... I think all you said is right. Then again, it doesn't work fine always. But his punishments are too much even for me. With such a complicated punishemnt kids will never actually understand what is related to what.
14 is grounded too atm. For being out too late and neglecting all her obligations in the household. She has one week for putting everything on trail again. Then the punishment will be revised. Or before it if she manages to be nice enough (which seems not to be the case).
As about GDZ and situations like this - I think one shouldn't critisize the other, it could be just enough to tell how'd you act in the sitation and maybe explain it. That way it wouldn't hurt anybody's feelings. At least that's how I've been told. I am way too often good at theory only.

Well, I've tried not to critisize - I hope. But I have an opinion of what is done - which I've tried to express. And then what I think will go on in the kids mind and what I would have done.

I have some suggestions for you and fourteen as well. Or rather tell you about how I set the rules - and what I did, when they didn't respect them. I'll put it in the atelier.
