Hati, do you remember us discussing, once upon a time (long ago) the possible name for one of my cactii?
Anyway, I've managed to capture it on photo now:
http://hem.passagen.se/kristina.r/cactii.jpg
The matchbox is an ordinary sized one - added because that is how small the two original plants was that I got from a friend.
They were dark purple then, due to lack of daylight, but they turned green when I put them in a window with plenty of light.
The big plant in the photo is the great-great-grandfather, I think - I now have 14(!) plants.
Whenever one of them sprouts flowers, I can't fully enjoy the beauty of them - because I know there's another kid plant on the way...*sighs*
I'm afraid I don't have a photo of the flowers, but they are very small, white and shaped like miniature and narrow bluebells, on a very long stem.
Got any idea what they might be named?

My guess would be haworthia.

Your turn.
I need some information about Stockholm. Public transportation costs, to start with. I'll be there in Friday and I can't remember how much it was to take the bus from port to city and I don't know if kids have to pay the same.

OK, most important change of all after we got a right wing government that seems bent on making life more complicated for the average Svensson, raising the fees - and yet, the public transport company has made a profit of more than 11 million kronor during the last few years! (you can tell I'm not right wing, right?)
'From the 1st April 2007 you will no longer be able to purchase a ticket onboard the buses.'
You see, the unions protested since a lot of bus drivers got robbed, so now the drivers don't handle cash - any cash - any more.

The third link mentions zones - let's see if I can find a zone map somewhere... hah - no search function in the English version... oh bah, the zone map isn't very good *curses quietly to herself*
Ah, found a 'your zone' search function in Swedish - the distance from Frihamnen to say Hötorget is within zone A, so one zone = two units.
Children under the age of 7 travel for free.
If you're travelling between noon on a Friday and midnight on a Sunday, you may bring up to six kids aged 7-11 in the company of one paying adult. The weekend discount is, however, not valid if the adult uses a 24 hour/72 hour or Stockholm card. Logical, eh?
There's got to be some more info on kid rates... *rummages around on the SL site*
There should be a ticket machine at the bus stop Frihamnen, and it looks like this:
http://www.sl.se/templates/Page.aspx?id=4870
It's blue bus no. 1
During weekends, kids above 11 but below 20 years old pay 'reduced' rate.

This is way too complicated! So, I should assume that there's the machine at the station. And the machine eats real money. We will be there on Friday, roughly at 11am. 2 adults and 2 kids (9&10). We must be back at Frihamnen at 1700. What kind of tickets should we get?

You'll be starting out *before* noon on Friday? Ouch... you know, I'm not sure I can figure that out myself - I'll send an e-mail and ask them and let them have the headache

Reference number 224415 on my mail query - need to save it somewhere (like here) in case I don't recieve any reply within the next day or so...

Not sure if the machine *only* feeds on money - I'll obviously need to check one out. Never paid much attention to them anyway, since I have a 30-day card...

Horrible system, I'd say. I wonder how locals understand it.

Well, the right wing government have promised to lessen unemployment - and the road they've chosen seems to be 'increase administration!'
The road tolls will be reinstated again, and this after the 'Nya Moderaterna' (old party, new name) promised they'd never do that - before elections, that is...
But part of the toll cost will be deductable in the income-tax return...
Confusing enough for you?
Why simply not charge less?
Oh - right - no new job opportunities... *sighs*
