novosibirsk - as normal as I can be........ Started conversation Oct 12, 2006
Morning DDD
I am following your request to discuss 4X4's in your PS since you quite rightly point out that we were actually discussing indicators ( use of ).
I see from your PS that you're a Land Rover person. Not quite what most of us urban dwellers mean when we refer to 4X4's, which are more likely to be Japanese or German in origin, of relatively massive size, and presumably a large carbon footprint.
My own experience is that the BMW drivers are the worst in crowded streets. I can't explain why it is that the drivers seem to be insulated entirely from the outside of their mobile armchair, but they behave as though they are. Dteails of yesterdays example if you wish, but with your 'special' interest in mind I don'tthink you should get too upset - we 're not actually talking about the same thing!
Respects
Novo
PS Hope the Gin has worn off now.........

Thanks for that Novo - I was just a little frustrated that the thread had turned from discussing indicators into bashing 4X4 owners for their choice of vehicle. Generalised sweeping statements designed to increase public hatred of 4X4's are heard all too often and I dislike being tarred with the same brush. I'm a responsible driver and a responsible adult and I take my hobby and driving seriously.
True, there are a number of irresponsible 4X4 owners, but then so there are bikers, pedestrians, cyclists and from time-to-time trained motorway police officers. We can't automatically assume that everyone behaves the same way.
I'm refraining from commenting on 4X4 matters in the other thread, much as I would like to challenge some of the prejudice there, because that's not the subject matter in hand. A wider debate on the pros and cons of 4X4's would be welcome though, but that is not the place for it.
Thanks for dropping by!
