Greetings, dear friend with the misplaced 'iers'!
I've been largely MIA (Mired In Absentia) from these hallowed halls for the past month or so, but I see there are at least two occurrences for which a hearty how-do-you-do is warranted.
First, of course, there’s the arrival of one Elizabeth Louise! You’re no doubt near bursting with pride and joy.
Then, there’s your ascension to some kind of uppity station among the UG crowd (which begs the question, can one be ‘elevated’ to the ‘Under’-Guide?).
Please accept my warmest congratulations on both!

Greetings indeed, Michael!
It's great to see you back in harness. I had been wondering where you'd disappeared to!
Yes, thank you for your warm wishes on the birth of our second grandchild. We are all delighted at the event.
The other thing came 'out of the blue'. No doubt you've followed the threads of both these events through.
Of course,I'm only a mini-Minor! Whether I'll ever be a major-Minor remains to be excavated!
So, what are you standing around for? Get writing your entertaining stuff for us. I'ts been too long! We're famished!
ears!
