Hi Ron,

You have been strangely silent lately.

How are things going for you this winter?

Phred Calling

Hi Phred,

Thanks for calling. I think I'm OK Phred, but I've been a little worried, perhaps without reason; I don't really know for sure.
I have been taking my doctor's (consultant's) prescription for my 'borderline' angina, which has not troubled me for some time, making me think that the original diagnosis is perhaps wrong. There was/is some doubt from my GP and consultant cardiologist, even now! And I am not entirely convinced of the accuracy of the diagnosis either!
The simvastatin I take to lower and control my cholesterol seems to be affecting my sight. It is known to cause light sensitivity, so that may be the cause. But also, the stomach tablets I have to take to protect my digestive tract from the Aspirin they have prescribed, also causes a blurring of visual acuity. So, being at the screen for too long may also contribute to the symptoms I am experiencing. That's why I've cut back a little on my on-line stuff.
One thing I have noticed is that when I cease taking the simvastatin and stomach pills, which I usually do when I'm going to drive the 200 miles to our sons, my sight does appear to be much nearer my normal visual efficiency.
I'll get back a little more often I hope, soon. I do miss my h2g2 browsing!

Ron
