What a wonderful name. I would love to know something about you.

I am a very old lady - have just celebrated my 80th birthday, and I am born of French parents in South Africa,.

I still have lots of interests, and one of which is this marvellous site which was the brainchild of DNA at the turn of the 20th/21st centuryies.

I have been a member for ages but I keep forgetting myu password. Very bothersome that!!.

I am afraid that I belong to the old school of scientific fiction. i.e Jules Verne and his wonderful stories about his journey Round the World in 80 days - and the 20,000leagues under the Sea. These were written when there were no telephones, no electricity , no aeroplanes, man had not been to the moon. And yet all this has happened.
I wonder how much of the present day science fiction will become a reality within 100 years. The only thing that comforts me is that I shall not be around to see it. !!/

I bought a lovely picture the other day at an art exhibition. It was of a telephone booth hanging on a cliff. The colours are superb and the young man I was with told me that this was the original Dr. Who telephone booth whose inside was bigger thatn the outside At. last I think I might become interested in Dr. Who. !!

Well, my nickname was born many years ago when opposition towards everything was my rule number one... but fortunatelly one of my life mentor gently asked me to start use my brain and stop being so paradoxical
This is a short ethymology
Hmmmm...I'm afraid there is not much interesting facts about me
I don't think You are "a very old lady", in my opinion You are a human star with young soul, with passion for life and for people...
It's not the body creating our age, it's this hunger of life and consciousness of soul (I know it sounds strange).... I've never in my life met 80 years old lady using computer big respect AlsoRan
I believe we're creating our world, in our hands is how this world will look for next 100 years...In very bad scenario it will be world of machines, artificial intelligence and IT corporations... We want everything simple, quick access, instant food, easy life... something very important is missed very often...
But...it's only my view...written in bad and poor English, which btw, I hope You will forgive me
I quite like sf pictures, but I'm more in love with old pictures and stories..."Gone with the wind" is absolutely nr 1

Pleasure to meet You in this space AlsoRan80... I have to murder a little poor chicken now (which I really hate as a vegeterian) and burn him in my oven...I feel like angel of darkness with power to sentence this innocent chicken body to infernal pain....just because my familly HAS to eat meat...

Dear akadisorder,

I made three attempts to repy yesterday. Alwats with some gory story about a chicken!! So I gave up. I would still like to tell you one of the stories I wrote to you.

This was about when we were living on a farm outside of Port Elizabeth in South Africa. My Maman went out one day and asked one of the gardeners to go and choose, kill and bring her a chicken - big enough to feed six people.

Tokolosh - this was a nickname given to him by his tribesmen because he was a dwarf, went and proudly came back about 30 minutes later with SIX dead chickens in his hands. Maman nearly freaked out. But she had obviously not given her instructions in as clear a way as was necessary. !!

I am very pleased because today I went to the audiologist, taken there by my charming carer, and I was fitted with a most beautiful pair of new hearing aids. I am so pleased because now I can hear what the commentators are saying during the tennis matches at Wimbledon.

Please forgive my typing errors. I need a new pair of glasses as well. I shall have to pay for the hearing aids first thought. !! Interesting to hear what is going on around me. !!
