sorry! ive been really busy! school holidays should be for relaxing but ive been doing stuff every day and only ever been on h2g2 for a couple of minutes at a time (usually just to put something ive written up) so havent had a chance to reply. forgive me?

hey how are you? sorry, ive been so busy recently! just finished all my exams yesterday (for my school certificate) so ive finished school for this year... it was exhausting.

i still havent worked out how h2g2 works... :P or all the things it has to offer. (but now schools sort of over, ill have time to explore it! ) ill go check out the post and read it

ive just been trying to put up with the rotton weather, not good for us older ones lol

hope you passed all or some of the tests,im sorry to say, i couldnt even pass the old type 11+ when i was younger, and ended up in a secondary mondern school, as it was called, a place for the dreggs we called it.

if you get good enough results, what are you thinking of doing, going into music or something else, when i was about 13 or 14, i was a drummer for a group, a few mates, didnt get anywhere,

we had a stupid name to start with, "madboys" beleive me two where brothers, just like the gallagers lol. totally nuts.

if my calulations are right, last time we meaaged i was 60, now im 61, 30th oct.

haha and whats 11+ ? lol sorry. and yes im pretty sure ive passed all of them (they asked questions i knew the answers to. it went really well so im confident about it)

well its an alright band name! sorry it didnt work out...

me and my friend had a band but that died... we had a myspace page and it got over 200 views which was impressive seening as we didnt have any songs up on it!

what i want to do is archaeology or museum curating and i need a HSC mark of 85 which i should be able to get. i wish i could do music but i wont be able to get into the conservitorium doing music 1 whihc is what ive picked as one of my electives. i need to do this subject called music 2 which is harder and means u basically get straight into the conservitorium and a career in music. oh well.... its a tough choice...

i never go anywhere for my birthdays now, just another mark in time, i dont drink or smoke, so pointless going anywhere but the cyber or shops around town.

the eleven+ was a test we had in my days to see where you would be heading, if you passed with flighing clours you went to a grammar school. if you failed like me, you ended up in a dump called a secondary modern shool.

you tended to learn nothing, and the only jobs you got where labouring and textiles, lol.

my first job after i leaft school at 15, was in the textiles, i earn, 10 shillings for 50 hrs, and had to give it to mother.

in my days we had no calulators, we had fingers, and bits of paper, or memeory.

oh ok thats interesting our school certifiacte is basically only useful for people leaving at the end of year 10 to go to tafe or work. im going onto to years 11 and 12 so its not that important for me but oh well . i studied hard for it anyway.

haha in my day we have quite advanced calculators... quite useful things

now you have opened a door lol

passing, perching, loading and unloading wagons, patternroom assistant, warp droper, creeler,bobin winder, weftman, lol, and more, from the age of 15 to about 19 when i joined the army, short lived my mother took bad, i had to leave after a few months.

ive even made 2inch,3inch, and 88mm mortarshells, at a firm i worked at, that led to me joining the army lol

in my days you could use the abicus, it was a wooden thig with coloured beads on wire, each section was a diff colour to denoe amouts, 1,s,10,s,100, and so on. not allowed when doing a test lol jim xx

i didnt get out of england, i was in training at york

my mother had a bad heart attack, because my younger sister at the time, sneaked off to get maarried, and my elder one couldnt work, so they got me out of the army to be the breadwinner

a year or so after mother got better, i left home for the first time.

im getting around the pc without probs, i use a 1gig, flashdrive to store anything i need to use at the cyber.

my box as been haywire since thursday, keeps going off for some reason, the engineer will be here on monday, probably need a new one. take care jimbob xx

ok, random questions: do you use the self serve chech outs at shops or prefer people to do it? (honestly, i prefer people because they are actually faster not because i like 'the old way' :P)

its a type of cable i use, i can watch tv, do emails, play active games, and other things.

but i DONT have a pc, so you are wondering,how do i get on here.

i have three emails, on each i have a special acsess link, to bbc and h2g2 only, from an email

i cant acsess the internet, or use a mouse, i just have a k/board.that is fully remote, i can use from about 10 ft away if i want to.i also have the advantage to watch and hear the tv, while on emails or h2g2.

how or why it works, i have no idea lol,at one time i was one of over 100 on a digibox, now i think i could count them on one hand.
