The long dark night of the soul

Well, I thought (with prompting from my husband) that I ought to make a journal entry. So, here goes.
Why do we always seem to write the deepest and most meaningfull stuff in the middle of the night when we can't sleep, we feel ill, we have loads of stress on our minds and there is nothing on TV?
Then again, maybe that is when we write the most gibberish. Maybe I should 'shut the f#(< up' now, before I get too carried away and maudlin...
