I was dumped. Yes, I know, very tough to believe! It was a month or so ago. You would think I would be over it by now, but No. I saw her at a local pub tonight and it all came crashing down on me. Maybe this isn't the place to discuss this but It has certainly scarred me and is heavily crouched upon my heart at the moment. Anybody got any ideas how I can make this a past-tense? I would greatly appreciate any help anyone might have to offer even if this is an improper medium. Sorry, I'll shove off then.......

someplace you never went with her would, i think, be a safe life enhancing bet, you stay AWAY from that bath

Weird, here I was just surfing to a random person's page because I liked his name, and I bump into tree and her (as usual) sage advice...
Get out a lot probably works for the dumpage. I wouldn't know because I tend to like to hide in my room when my relationships (few and far between as they may be!) break up. Particularly when I've been dumped. I find that venting to my friends about it helps a little. The first time I really got flat out dumped, as in, I didn't see it coming at all and took it pretty hard, I thought "hey, I want to be alone." About ten minutes later I knocked on my friend Jason's door and said "you know, I really don't want to be alone after all" and he listened to me cry about it until dawn. Sometimes, it helps to just fall apart for a bit, preferably in the company of a good friend armed with sympathy and chocolate, and you find that shortly after you feel a bit better.
Other than that, I think it's just a matter of time, really. Nothing else has ever really worked for me, just time.
Ooh yeah and ice cream of course

The chocolate, at least, has been arranged. I have the pleasure of knowing many WONDERFUL people who would be willing to do the shoulder bit but I haven't been ready to take advantage of it/them yet. Yes, time is what I'll have to wait to have happen to me(whew) before I start to feel decent again....I don't know, I just didn't think it would take so long. Thanks for the input, every lit bit does help
Yeah, she's(tree) cooler than the other side of the pillow. In fact, she gets my vote for reigning diety of all time/space/dimension...for now/here/and....here. Maybe it will rub off.

IMHO, getting out a lot may or may not decrease the time factor, depending upon your personality. Getting out a lot for me would likely cause me to notice all the other people who are enjoying coupledom. In my very limited experience it takes mostly time. And a good friend to talk to has never hurt. It seems useful to share whatever you're going through with someone who will listen and care.
In other words, what she said.

Still...thanks! I've had more help from this journal entry than I ever would have imagined! You folks are OK! And to think, If I hadn't been so...well...drunk really, I wouldn't have thought to put it down here. I'm far better today. I've this canoe trip happening tomorrow that has me distracted. Yes! Water, woods, substance abuse( not really).... I cannot possibly wait. Anyway, I'm off to the bath! Thanks again

it seems that liquids and time are the top two problem solvers here....if only there were some way that we could combine the two........combine the two....combine the two.........

YEAH! you could compose it like in "Real Genius" so that it turns directly into a gas above a certain temperature! Time-gas! Time-gas...time-gas( in a descending analog tape-loop complete with reverb, a slow-modulating-flanger and an envelope-filter with pitch-shifting!!) Come back from that lab!

I can sympathise with your situation. It sucks so bad and I'm sorry. I don't think anybody should have to go through this.

I'm going to visit your page tomorrow when I'm less drained. You're right though, it hardly seems fair that some people can leave a relationship instantly and without pain or emotional consequence while others(like myself) cry and lament and torture themselves endlessly. It's better though. I still find myself watching the door when I go out to see if she's coming in
maybe your page will have new insights for me.......OK, I saw it briefly. Sorry that happened to you
I'll stop frowning nowWouldn't it be cool if they could get the "Green guy" logo thingummy on here somehow?

Heh. Not really. It's a creation of the American publishers. DNA has always hated it.

*looks back*
I'm sorry Captain. I went back and thought about it and my page doesn't really have any advice or anything helpful to say, it's just my story. I thought that maybe it would seem sympathetic, but that probably doesn't help much.
Again, I'm sorry, my brainpower is a bit impared right now. I'm most definatly not working at full capacity.
Nice to meet you anyhow!

When her brain works at full power it really sizzles. Whole Chicago blocks can be blacked out for days. It's quite a spectacle.
