After months I've dipped my toe in html and I've got a fish (not quite sure how) but the sky's the limit!

I was really chuffed when it worked but I've lost all my smileys 
and all my text is all bunched up. A bit more research perhaps!

What next? Anyone know how you get the 'hello (whoever)' bit? That amazed me the first time I saw it! (doesn't take much!)

I wanted to be the first person to leave you a message on your page but it won't let me
Nevermind. You have to go to 'edit my personal space' and change you're preference to html then you have to copy and paste the code. It's taken me 6 months!.
Muv, jem or sshh, how do you get the smileys back?

not sure ... I never lost my smileys .... you need codes for 'em like the VIEWER code you used - not like the ones we use when we're chatting. If you did that and still lost 'em then I'm stumped ... I know there's a thread somewhere where you can ask for help ... I'll have a trawl round and see if I can find it for you

BTW, just went to your PS and the viewer thingy worked, it said Hi Jemstone!

Found it! It's probably because you've changed to GuideML......
Once you have changed your page to GuideML style, you will have to use tags to put in smileys as well:
<smiley type="smiley of your choice"/> for example
<smiley type="magic"/> gives you on your PS. I just tried it on mine and it worked.
