I've seen you Entry on the Ditherington flax mill and thought I'd pop by. Are you local to Shrewsbury too or was it the building that you were interested in?

If 20 miles north is local I was local when I became interested, but it was really the building that interested me.

I'm now even more local but no longer pass the mill going to work.

From your motivation thread I can make a guess where you work. (Don't worry, Hypatia can vouch for my harmlessness, ). It must be quite an experience. And have it's own stresses. Your thread reminded me how I used to feel about school, and how I used to worry work might be like that, and how thankful I should be that it never has been. I can't add anything to what's already been said on the thread, but the comment that it's something to be a part of an organisation doing something worthwhile (even if not ideally or even as well as it could) has a satisfaction to be found in it. And there are some places it takes a bit of character to work in, I'd class it as one of those, and being prepared to work there is an achievement in itself.

Hope you find a way to make it pleasanter, or find something else though, because work's far too big a part of life to let it be a misery.

Indeed, you spend far too much time at work to hate it!
I've applied for a different position within the prison, actually. Fingers crossed it will take me out of the specific office that I dislike and let me enjoy what I do again (although it'll be a new career- exciting!).

It is a weird place. It forces you to think about prisons and prisoners, which, in a day-to-day life, you never do. And when you do, you assume that all prisoners are scary people, which isn't usually true. They are all still human and they all made mistakes - just some bigger than others.

Anyway, away from work!
