Good to hear from you smiley - hug! I read your home-space, I'm glad the move is working out.

Was it your 75th that involved a motorbike ride across the Sahara by moonlight?

If so, how do you top that for your 80th?!

Hi dear friend,

You must be busy again with your other life. !! I hope that it is still happy.

I think of you every time that they mention Iceland. What on earth is happeing to people? I really think that the world has gone stark staring bonkers.

Anyway, I sit here in my eyrie. It is strange not having K. here. At the weekend I see two faces - my carer on Saturday morning at 7 a.m. and again on Sunday morning at 7 a.m. when she comes to help me with my ablutions. Otherwise I am absolutely on jy own. It is strange but I rather like it. I can do exactly what I like, when I like. It could, but I hope will not, make me selfish.

I am having a wonderful time investigating the celestial skies. There are such kind people on this website, and although I know only an infintisimal amount about the heavens and constellations etc. I have been directed to, with the help of this new friend the most wonderful websites. The other evening I listened to a programme with Sir roger Moore. How can one be lonely when there are so many wonderful programmes on TV?

Go well my friend. Are you not going to Spain this year. I still remember your description of the - were they gentians - that you found when you eventually got to the top of the mountain. !
With much affction

It's good to at peace in your own company, I can't see you getting selfish.

It's pretty awful about Iceland - it's such a small country in terms of population. But I think they've a strong community, you have to have living with such extremes and on the edge of volcanoes. We're a bit wimpish in the UK really, getting into such turmoil over finances when other peoples cope with war, earthquakes and volcanoes on their doorsteps.

Spain is usually a March, April holiday. I did go last March, not sure what will happen this spring. I am just back from a week in Aberdeen though - which was very good. Lots of sea, dunes, estuary, hills, lochs, Caledonian pine forest, plover, lapwing, granite, botantical gardens and galleries, roll mop herring and pizza.

I climbed another mountain, Lochnagar. No gentians but plenty red grouse and possibly ptarmigan and definitely bellowing red deer up there. It was good. Actually we didn't get quite to the top as the path disappeared in scree and as cloud was coming down over it it wasn't altogether safe to go on. We got high enough to look down into the corrie and see the loch at the bottom of it though.

Picyure here if the link works -> http://public.fotki.com/h2g2Waz/picture-a-week/lochnagar.html

Take care and have a good weekend.

Wow!! Wee!

What a climb.

What experiences you are having.

it is sad about Iceland. How did you manage to get there - or is that put of the bigger plan?

Have an excellent weekend.
