Glad to hear it went well. Don't worry about the competition, you have no influence over it. The thing I hate about interviews is when you have to put a price on yourself (worse when you have to put it in your letter!) I always say something like " xxxx DM, but don't reject me just because I'm too expensive or cheap - I'm prepared to discuss it". Once during an interview the guy offered me 500 DM more than I was asking! - although I was rejected by someone elses secretary (!) I'll tell you about it sometime if you're sufficiently interested) Anyway. I hope it goes well and it's what you want.

I drive from Waldfeucht (near Heinsberg - which is between Aachen and Düsseldorf on the Dutch boarder) to Willich (near Mönchengladbach). We're hoping to move soon (fingers crossed for me please) so the journey will be just about 30 mins. Which is ok. I managee with the kids, because my husband *big fanfare here* is on Erziehungsurlaub!!! Can you believe it. He is one of the 1.5%! He has a DM630 job (he's a Chef) which he does at evenings & weekends to keep his hand in. We get a teenage neighbour (who my kids adore) to watch them for the hour between him leaving and me arriving, and so far it works well. I was sooooo glad to get back to work you can't believe it (plus I earn more than he does, so it's good all round)

I am glad this thread is back now - I was waiting for it to use it for an entry on bilingual child raising. So now I have absolutely no excuse!
