Hello Carole, I'm Spynxxx, a miner for the alternative writing workshop(AWW). What's a miner you say? Well, my job is to scurry about, looking for the finest examples of creative writing, be they poetry, works of fiction, or narratives.
"OK, how does this apply to me?" is probley the next thing to mind. Well, having just finished devouring your "Cherry Cake", I thought to come take a peek at your space. And here I found "The Mummy", a most excellent story.
So, I wonder if you would consider submitting it to us over in AWW? We're always looking for good material, and this one is quite wonderful and would be most welcome. I'm sure my fellow miners will concur (I belive you've already met Waz)as well as those who come looking for a good read.
By the way, you may want to visit the Underguide. This is where we showcase those pieces which have made the front page, the choosing of which is another of our tasks. Not that it's really work to read. We're all volunteers who take great pride and joy in our calling.
And so it is that I'm off, back to the mines. Please consider submiting "The Mummy", and I'll look forward to reading you again soon.

Hi,
Thanks for your message about The Mummy - glad you liked it.
yes, of course, I would love to submit it to AWW (is that Alternative Writing Workshop?) Can I post it there and still leave it where it is? Sorry I am still a newbie and am not sure of the protocol
Best wishes CaroleH

Hi Carole, in answer to you question, yes, you may submit it to AWW as well as leaving it in GW.
Though the BBC is our common parent, we exist as seperate entitys. So please, feel free to send it over at your leisure.

Hello Carole, just thought to drop by with a bit of info. We've been working over the AWW, cleaning out and the like, so don't fret that your wonderful entries seem to be getting little response.
With all that we've been doing, new stuff gets bounced around faster than a ball on the courts of Wimbleton. Right now entries submitted last week are almost a hundred spots removed from the front(shows just how much effort we're putting in), but fear not. I for one have my eye on you, and will periodicly bump them up until a time that things stabilize.
I certainly hope you're enjoying yourself here on hootoo, it is a wonderful community and we are happy to have you with us.

Thanks Spynx
Yes I really am enjoying hootoo. I log on each morning and write a line on the Limericks, add a Station to Morning Crescent and answer the mail from my friends. It sure beats getting on with writing my Novel!!!
I have to say again, everyone is so funny - I spend my whole time on line smiling. My daughter was here at the weekend and she went home telling me she was going to join up too! She reckons everyone is barking mad but she had a good laugh too. And laughing is the best medicine for all ills as we all know.
I have other stories I could post - but some of them are rather long (3000 and more words) so I have hesitated with them.
Thanks again for writing
Best wishes Carole
