hi Lynn
well, glad to see Jaz'd eventually got you ACE'd ... the link he gave you to Feisor's page is great - there's loads of information there but I still reckon the best way to get going is to just jump in ... 2 feet ... and elbow your way into some of the conversations. As long as they're not obviously 'private' conversations (and although it's an open house some of them are) most people are quite happy for you to join in. Good luck m'dear ...
If you've found Chorlton's PS, which I guess you have, there's a convo on there where we meet .... it's 'Hi Chorlton'... and there's another nice lady who comes and chats there - Jemstone - and we occasionally get visited by Universal Granny, although not so often these days. Why don't you pop in and see us there ? If you can't find it on Chorlton's list then it'll be on mine somewhere as well
I've made loads of new friends here (including one chap who's rather special now ) so I hope you will too.
see ya soon

Hi Lynn ...
just to let you know I've e-mailed h2g2 support to ask them if there's anything they can do to solve the problem we seem to get leaving you new messages on your PS
I don't know whether they'll e-mail me, or you, or whether they'll contact you via your PS but one way or another I'm sure one of us will hear something I've only ever contacted them once before with a problem I was having, but they couldn't have been more helpful
Let me know if you hear anything ...

Hi Lynn
!!!! tell me what problems you're having ... there are some things which we all seem to suffer with from time to time - it may be one of them
I'm here for a bit ... but if I don't catch you I'll pop back later on so leave me a message

Hi Muv. .
Ok whould you like to just shoot me now .
I have to go the long way round to get to this, is that normal?
When you yourself has a message does it tell you or do you like me go ta ta's?
Ok even after typing this have confused myself.
Now I bet you wish you never got mixed up in all this (who can blame you I have even bored myself).

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ....
What d'ya mean by ta ta's ??? Tell me exactly how you go about leaving replies ....
... what I usually do is go to my personal space ... any new messages will show up as (... new posts) against the conversation in your conversation list. If you click on the (... new post) bit it'll take you to the first of the new posts if there are more than one (a post is an extra bit of conversation in a 'thread' which is the actual conversation)
So, the simple way to see what's going on is just to go to your PS ... keep an eye on the list and see what comes to the top cos that's usually the one which has the most recent activity on it. Then just click on that conversation and hey presto!!!
If you can't do that then there might be something not quite right but hopefully once h2g2 support get their hands on you they'll sort everything out for you ....
Can I make a teensy weensy suggestion ... when you start a new conversation give it name ... if you look up above the reply box you'll see a subject box ... stick something in it and it'll make the conversations easier to identify next time round !!
Don't worry hun, everything'll get clearer

Hi Lynn
Just had an e mail back from h2g2 support about the problem we're having posting messages to your PS and this is what they said ....
*The reason for this is that this Researcher is not actually a member of h2g2 but of Points of View. Although the DNA platform (which contains h2g2 and POV) allows users to post anywhere, Messageboards accounts do not have full Personal Spaces like h2g2 accounts do, and Aces do not welcome people from other communities.
If your friend does wish to become a full member of h2g2, she can email us to arrange this. It will mean she will be able to be a full participant in h2g2 as well as POV.
Regards,
The h2g2 support team*
So there ya go ... if you want to e-mail them and get it sorted their e-mail address is [email protected] ... I'll leave it to you
hope you've had a good day
chat soon
