Haven't I just been talking to you somewhere else, Muv?!!!
I thought I wouldn't hi-jack the "Hi Chorlton" thread, chatting to you so, toddled over to your space for a chat instead.
Trains go from Waterloo down to the Eden Project, and then there is a bus/coach ride from St Austell station to the Project. Only the excursions I am talking about are steam rides. You will see from my space that I love steam engines, and one day I am going to treat myself and my friend to a ride on a steam train to the Eden Project -if I can pluck up the courage for the coach ride the other end.... I get very on coaches!
I am not very willing to put my e-mail address on here but Evadne has it, and if you want it, so that we can chat more about trains, the Eden Project, the world and everything, please ask her for it.
Meanwhile, take care
UG

Hi UG
Thanks for popping in I might treat myself to a trip to the Eden Project next summer I think, I hadn't really thought about going by train but it's a long old trip in the car and I must admit it's that that has been putting me off . I quite like a train ride sometimes and it certainly takes the effort out of things.
It's good to catch up with you again - how's the world treating you?
I'll tap Ev for your e-mail address next time we're chatting although, as I said, the last I heard from her her computer had died so I guess it may be a while before I catch her again on-line.
No matter, there's more than one way to skin a cat
anyway - I'm at work at the mo and am just about to leave to go home so I'll say ttfn and catch up with you again soon.
Take care UG,
*waves*

That was quick, Muv, I didn't expect to hear from you until tomorrow!!
How's the world treating me? Some's good and some's bad, but it all evens out in the end. Work is getting busier, and will be manic right up to Christmas.
I have two of my grandchildren staying with me over this weekend, so am busily child-proofing the house!! Pebbles is fine, a nearly-seven year old little girl with the head of a 40 year old, but Bam-Bam is a nearly five years old boy still going through the "terrible twos"!! Oh joy! I love them both to bits, but I know I am going to be absolutely kn**ckered by the end of it.
They evidently have a list of "things to do with Granny" which has catch words in it such as "football", "park", "face painting", "staying up late", "Cuddling on the settee and watching
Toy Story II" (for the umpteenth time!). Wonder if I could cajole them into watching "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day" - that cracks me up, and they enjoy watching me laugh!
Anyway, must go and walk the dog before the park closes
See you soon
Take care UG

Hi UG
Sorry not to have replied sooner ... I've had some things going down here which have been taking up my time and energy the last couple of days but I've managed to wrestle the pc from the girlies clutches and grab half hour for myself at last
I guess you don't have that trouble yet with your grandchildren do you? Sounds like they like to keep you busy tho ... I'd be quite happy with the face painting, the staying up late and the cuddling bit but I think I'd rather pass on the football and, in this weather, they can keep the park as well!! I thank heaven every day that I have girls and not boys. The thought of standing on a chilly touchline all winter does nothing for me believe me.
But you'll have a lovely time I know, whatever you get up to ... we never ever tired of feeding the ducks come wind, rain or snow
I liked Toy Story too ... I could take or leave the Winnie the Pooh films - I think because we were bought up on the stories, the films didn't have much of an appeal but having said that the girls loved 'em.
Now they're into *real* films and we snuggle up on the settee sometimes at weekends (when the boyfriends aren't looking of course ) and watch Bridget Jones Diary and Pretty Woman and things like that. Do yours like TV cartoons like Pingu and Spider? They were the others that always kept us giggling and my eldest (who's 16 now and a good 2 inches taller than me) still flatly refuses to throw the Sesame Street video away and can sing the Cookie Monster song word for word (but don't tell her I told you so)
They never really grow up do they (which is actually quite nice)
anyway UG, I'm off for a bit of a veg ... I'm a bit torn between a and uncorking a bottle of tonight .... I reckon I'll put the kettle on and decide while it's boiling .....
ttfn
