Just a little note on your comment in the "Where are you from" forum. Lots of US citizens from the southern states might be a bit peeved to be called "Yanks." smiley - smiley

And I know Scotland isn't part of England. England is part of Scotland, right?

I'm joking! Don't yell at me smiley - smiley

I am aware that southerners do not like to be called "Yanks" but then again I am also aware that I don't like being called "English" or for that matter "Scotch". Perhaps I should have put a smiley - smiley after my "where are you from" entry.

Nah...I think it is understood. I am just being a minor troublemaker smiley - smiley

You know...I understand "Scotch" is not the proper usage for a person from Scotland, but I still hear it all the time. I think it is more likely an American would call a person from Scotland "Scotch" than "English." Though, if judging on accent alone, I can see where "English" might be mistakenly used. It is sometimes hard to distinguish the differences in accents.

However, all labeling aside...nice to make your acquaintance, Rehash.

I love those Scottish slang pages! Thanks for bringing them to my attention. I have a special affection for the Scottish language 'cause my real life name was inspired by a song in the musical "Brigadoon." And...Sean Connery is a favorite actor smiley - smiley

I got the name "Zmrzlina" from the second Slovak student we hosted. When Dany was living with us in 1996, my husband worked for a big ice cream company, so Dany thought Zmrzlina (means "ice cream" in Slovak) would be a great online name for me. I liked it because it sounds so cool. smiley - smiley

Any reason for "Rehash"? Maybe some obscure Scottish slang?

Afraid' not. Rehash means "old materials presented in a new form" for a while my PC consisted of a variety of "hand me downs" from my older brother (Madhacker).
