Our Kitchen - Part 4 & Illness

My husband is ill & I am still (diabetes seems to elongate any illness I have - always has done!) We're doing all we can to keep warm & fed.

Kitchen is a no-go area at present & we're just about managing to work around the boxes - I have absolutely no thoughts on housework smiley - silly - as Quentin Crisp once said: Dust gets to a certain thickness & then stops smiley - zen

Therefore, when this nightmare is over, we shall then have a super springclean smiley - yuk & smiley - erm a NEW kitchen smiley - rofl

I guess this is the 100 day cough Shirps. We all had it down here. The doc reckoned the only way to get over it is paracetomal 2 every four hours and loads of bedrestsmiley - sadface however The Son found Bach rescue remedy very good. it is a flower distillation most chemists sell it. But you would haveto check if it has sugar of course. The son found it very good helping him get back to normal after his scare.
I just hope you get better soon with all the stuff going on with the kitchen it must drive yousmiley - grr

Thanks kif,

We're taking Lemsips/Beechams Powders twice a day + Blackcurrant Strepsils. I've said to my husband that when we are over the worst I'm putting us both on a course of multi-vitamins smiley - biggrin

I had a do like this before Christmas with a cough, which went on for ages. It's not a smokers cough as my chest is clear, but a throaty cough, which I fear is straining my throat. I don't think the virus ever disappeared. The trouble is I tend to get really run-down - I think the diabetes has something to do with it (immune system & all that) - I've had it since I was 11 + getting run-down easily.

Will look out for the Bach Rescue Remedy - thanks.

Looking on the bright side: if I lose my voice the art club members will be happy that I can't moan at them smiley - rofl

I've reached a smiley - zen feeling about the kitchen - I haven't got the energy to panic smiley - biggrin

You sure are having one grand old timesmiley - dog.

Cannot believe the range problems! You would think the store would ask but if they are anything like our commercial people they just make sales. You are supposed to know all that needs to be known when buying. Yeah right! So now another month before you have the range? So what do you do? Eat out, microwave or cook over an outdoor grill?

Sorry about Roger. Well they say misery loves company. Hope Holly is doing okay.

Talking to Mo earlier - he's nagged me to go to the doc - I'm still nowhere near 100% - bit of a temp at times & a wracking cough - 2 weeks this coming Tuesday. I've a dentist apptmt. on Thursday & hospital apptmt. on Friday together with an Art Society meeting in the evening!!! So I really must get myself better!!

Just going to go to one of our other threads - if I can remember which one to ask you a question?
