Well, I did get As in all three sciences a year ago (we stagger our exams here) *gloat* so I'm not a complete ignoramus, but it never made sense to me. I just learnt it by rote. Frankly though, I'm not doing science A-levels not because I can't(although that is true...), but because more than half the people here do chemistry, biology and maths for A-Levels, and I like to be different.

ser gut.

Uncle, I'm not sure about your reasoning for not taking any sciences to A-Level (everybody else is) is a particularly good way to decide your possible future careers -- however, if you get lucky, you find one of those high paying jobs where scientific knowledge is considered a hinderance! (you'll have to keep your A grades secret ! smiley - smiley)

Siren - I'm not so sure about 'creative writing', as rather a lot of hot air & lack of focus gets clumped into that category - however I fully agree on the art & music sides.

Well, I like to be different, and I won't go into a science based career. I have other reasons, like I find it difficult, and I don't like it. A-Level choices don't matter too much, anyway, unless you want to be a doctor or economist.

When I talk about creative writeing, I mean writeing stories and suchlike. Describeing a scene can be fun to do, but if you go over the top it can be boreing for others. I generally write for my own enjoyment. The same reason I do music, art, drama, maths etc. Performance and generally showing others is only one side of all these things. I know that some people find that this side is the best part of doing any of these things, but I prefer the "backstage" work.
