Many moons ago I was in hospital. I had eaten virtually nothing for about three weeks. Eventually I was diagnosed as being a malingerer and allowed to get out of bed. A visit to the WC disclosed that though I had taken very little in, that very little had been steadily but unobtrusively accumulating at the exit. Such is the nature of the large bowel that this material had been thoroughly dried out.
For once I should have been pleased to have the company of a mathematician.
I didn't start this, remember.
now - but not then.
