Hi and welcome to h2g2, I hope you enjoy your time here! I see you've already written a great introduction (confusing too ) and chosen a great nicname - a wonderful start. If there's anything else you need, don't hesitate to ask me, or any of the other ACEs at http://www.h2g2.com/A214796 . I think most will cope with the no-spitting rule but it's a tough one .
Remember, feel free to ask any questions,
Mr.Cynic

Alrighty then, let's just take this one step at a time...
Your introduction: that's where you put, well, whatever it is you want to put there that tells people a little something about yourself, or what you intend to do here at H2G2. Most researchers use it as a way to keep track of their favorite links in H2G2 as well, or to point visitors to articles they've written. Surfing a few homepages would be a good way to get an idea of what you want to do there. As far as formatting goes, you could probably benefit from persusing the GuideML clinic. It'll teach you to be a guru in no time: http://www.h2g2.com/A187229
Your journal: this is where you put any random thoughts or journal entries. It can be whatever you want it to be, basically. When you write in this thing, it's text only, so don't waste your time trying out those new GuideML gadgets. Just type it the way you want it to appear.
Your guide entries: this is where you write any articles. After you've written them, you can submit them to become Approved Guide Entries. It's also where people put anything that they want to keep for any amount of time. For example, there are a lot of clubs here on H2G2, and those clubs are mostly attached to a guide entry that the creator of the page created. Any discussions on those topics can then be posted to the forums attached to that page, which makes them easy for everyone to find.
That should do for a primer... if you have any more specific questions, let me know.
