kea ~ Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded but very well read blue and white website

Hi Nick,

Firstly, thanks for fronting up today and telling us what is going on, and doing so in such a kind manner.

You said in your Announcement thread:

>>the redesign wasn't primarily intended as a step to asking someone else to take it over. It was a more complicated story than that. But I won't bore you with it (unless you really want me to).

Personally, I'd really love to know the story. I know I keep going on about this, but telling us what's going on makes it so much easier. I know there are things you can't tell us (how much h2g2 costs to run for instance), but otherwise I think it would be enormously helpful for us to know as much as possible. It would help deal with the shock and also help us as a community make decisions about where we go from here (you'll have noticed we've just assumed that we are going somewhere, one way or other).

kind regards,
kea.

Nick Reynolds

Hi and thanks. My apologies for not seeing your message sooner. I hope you'll understand that at this point I can't say anything more.

However if there is an H2G2 annual get together/drink/meal before the summer I'd be happy to attend and discuss with the community in person.

Thanks Nick. It's a bit far for me to travel (being in the Antipodes), but there is a Meet happening in a couple of months:

I'll send someone your way about that.

*Thinks*

If we can not wait that long we should organise a 'buy the current and former italics a drink' meet prior to that to thank them for all their work over the years...
