Karate

As this is a big part of my life I thought I'd say a bit about it.
I failed my first attempt at black belt - but this only made me stonger and wiser. I wanted it so badly that my mind set was not right. What I have found is to develop the concept of "empty mind" and simply move. It has tranformed many things not just karate. This I believe comes from Zen teaching but I must confess to not being able to fully understand. I have read Musahi Miyamoto's Book of FIve Rings - which has been useful and enlightening. Needless to say I passed my second attempt - but this time my attention was not on trying to prove something to others.
