Hi Android,
Welcome to the Guide and thanks for dropping by my nest. Thought I'd pay a return visit.
So you've gone from Cleethorpes to Florida eh? Bit of a difference I imagine. You say you're a sailor but somehow I doubt you sailed across the globe to your new home.
You asked about Scunthorpe in one of your postings. It's still there, but declined with the diminishing prosperity of the steel industry. Still not as bad as it's reputation but still turning up as the butt of media jokes. Why only last week the Guardian travel pages ran a story about hiking round Ireland and said "Of course, when the mist's down and you can't see anything, you might as well be in Scunthorpe".
Errgg! It's really not that bad, just a bit flat and industrial.
Rant over.
Have fun with H2G2. There's loads of good stuff and friendly people about to keep you amused. But beware, it's Addictive!

Hello MC
Thank you for visiting. I don't have a lot of time to spend here so I intend to lurk for a while to get the feel of things before diving headlong into the fray. At least this is the way I usually do things. I will probably check out a few different forums before going off on my own, unless I see something that hits my hot button. I am quite a cheery sort, who talks to anyone at least once, then probably several more times before I write them off. I had better be careful here because I percieve that the intelligence level is higher than most Internet forums and this means that I will not be writing off many people.
You are right I did not sail here from UK. At least not on my boat. I worked on cruise ships for many years and that is what brought me here.
Well I am off to browse for a while and see what I can find.
Cheers .
Android.
