Yeah, I've been around for ages'n'ages too, but the new smileys help conversations carry on when they're dying...

People started creating conversations without words, the only thing they posted was smileys...I mean, they're great fun and all, but just to express certain things, when words aren't sufficient. I don't think they're meant to be used as a complete language, if you get my meaning...

I know what you mean, but even in real life, you don't always use words. Sometimes you smile, or laugh, or do something, and smileys are there to represent these. And words are used when they are needed.
Anyway, h2g2 is meant for fun.

I totally agree on *that* one...all this time, that's the one thing that's never changed ! It's a shame that I can't be online as much as I used to, but it's always good to come back here 
. I'm hoping that it will change soon though...my online time that is
