poetry

In my previous Journal entry I had attempted to draw attention to some poems "Wot I had writ" under the titles Onomatopoetic 1,2,3 and 4. This was at least successful in drawing my attentions to them for long enough for me to suss out that they were excruciatingly bad and not worthy of a place here, so I withdrew them.
There followed for me a period of intense self loathing and doubt. I imagined that wherever the hard men of the Iambic Pentameter got together, the Vinny Jones's of verse gathered for their evenings of radical recitals I could hear the conversations going on:
"Oh, that Mental Mickey? Yeah he talks a good poem alright, but when he's fronted, he just bottles it."
"Yeah the Blokes a wuss, all talk and no delivery if you ask me."
So then In an attempt to put things right I have posted a fresh Poem under the title "There is, or once upon a time will be."
YEAH, READ IT AND WEEP.

Onomatopoetic
Posted Apr 29, 2000
Poetry, I mean real poetry is not the airy fairy limpwristed “I wandered lonely as a Skunk.” twaddle, nor is it the purile juvenilia of the angst ridden teenager’s “Oh woe is me, for my girlfriend left me for another.” (Too bloody right she has mate.) No, real poetry is recited or sung by huge drunken hairy bottomed sportsmen after a game
of Rugby, or carved into toilet doors by people who can’t spell.
In common with Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz I too only write poetry to throw my mean callous heartless exterior into sharp relief some of which can be found under the headings: onomatopoetic 1.2.3....etc. They are all very short because I am, so please feel free to to visit them and then: “Either die in the vacuum of space, or... tell
me how good you thought my poem was!”
