While cleaning my camera, I...

While cleaning my camera, I decided that it was time to try to add a journal entry. This was a relevation and it was darned near a religeous experience(cleaning my cmaerasmiley - winkeye). What to write about? How about the proper way to clean a camera thinks I? O.K.

The only way to clean a camera is carefully, no solvents, caned air or sandpaper! Wipe the outside of the camera body with a slightly damp cloth (I mean just slightly). If you have crusted dirt in the corners of the body, take a tothpick and scrape it out, a damp Q-tip could help. Never clean (touch) the mirror inside the camera, the focusing screen, or the shutter. If they get funky send it to a pro to be cleaned, his bill will be less than getting the screen, mirror or shutter replaced. You can blow on them to clean them, but anything that your bad breath doesn't remove, leave.

Clean the ouside of lenses like the camera body but even more carefully, and only clean the glass with lens cloths and very little lens cleaning fluid, you don't wnat the fluid in your lens either.

If this doesn't work I don't suggest that you throw it in with the laundry.smiley - winkeye

I know that you'll probably find this boring, but a photographer lives though his or her viewfinder.
