Well done Dr J on getting to be MS free. I'm am that also (and at work too ). Mainly cos I've just installed a new HD in my machine and decided that the time is right.
What version of Linux are you using?
If you need any help, just shout!

Sorry about late reply.
I'm using Caldera OpenLinux 2.2, but I understand that a 2.4 upgrade is available but I may wait for a while before thinking of installing it. I'm still at the bottom of a fairly steep learning curve.
BTW Thanx for the offer of help; I'm sure I'm going to need it.

No worries.
Take your time is all I can say. Get the system working to how you want it.
I've currently got two linux systems running on my machine at home, one a rather bastardised version of RedHat 5.2 - given the way I've messed around with it I'm not sure how it all still hangs together! and a new install of Turbo Linux onto a big drive. I'm currently messing around with that to try and get it to where I want it (WindowMaker as the window manager all my defaults etc)
If you do want to set up a H2G2 Linux/*nix users group I'll join

Thanks I got that (the email adress I give out on here is one of those that just forwards it somewhere else, for filtering at my end)
I'll look to set up the *nix group then and let you know when it's done.
I'll also email this to you to confirm I got the email.
