My Dragon Story
the cafe was small, and so was the small town outside of London that it was situated in. Just right for a break from work, thought the young woman. she had a day off, and had decided to go for a walk in her favorite part of the town she lived in. some small birds chirped happily in the trees lining the street, an old man passed who was walking his equally old sheepdog. just perfect.
and then she noticed the young man sitting two tables away from her. he was not very young, probably about 26 or 27. he looked normal enough, in good shape with pleasant, well defined features, shortish raven hair, and a slightly aristocratic nose. he was also quite tall looking. but his eyes were what caught her attention. they suited his face quite nicely, with a slightly almond shape that gave him a bit of an exotic look. they were green, but upon looking closer the woman noticed that they were rings of many shades of green, blending dark to light from the outer rim of the iris to the pupil. he suddenly noticed that she was looking at him, and smiled at her, just before the waitress came to take his order. she sat and drank her coffee, and watched the young man until he left. despite being almost 7 feet tall, he moved very gracefully, almost fluidly, like a snake. that’s kind of odd, thought the woman. why would i compare him to a snake?
as he left, he passed in front of the woman’s table, blocking the sun and turning him into a tall dark figure. this made here notice something; his dark spiky hair, longish nose and his grace and size seemed to remind her of a dragon. he turned his head and looked at her again; but the look was different . it showed a fierce, proud being was within, a being who was infinitely wise but kind and fair. almost proud really.all this was conveyed in a single look.
he moved out of the sun, and left her blinking, thinking about the dragon she had just seen.
