The House on Haunted Hill
Posted Feb 6, 2000
Just got back from seeing this movie, and well, it DID start out very well. Good plot set up, some reasonable acting and a couple of surprises, as well as some atmospheric sets and the appearance of the ubiquitous Geffrey Rush. However, about three quarters of the way through, the film falls apart a little, and the expected horror 'pay-off' just doesn't come to pass, and the audience is left feeling a bit short changed. It was pretty much horror 'By-the-numbers', entertaining enough to watch after a night at the local hostelry, but to spend £5 seeing it? I think you would be a little bit disappointed.. Good, but not great; mildy scary, but not chilling; Slightly above average... Watch 'Event Horizon' instead

Why do I say I will do these things? :)

I just realised, I promised my pub landlady that I would write a Valentine's day quiz for the local hostelry for next Sunday! Ah well, time to pick-up and ponder 50 questions on romantic trivia! Mind you, if she thinks I am wearing pink satin, she has another thing coming!

Guide Entries to write...

So far, I am thinking of putting some stuff together on the following:
Writers: Clive Barker, Iain Banks and Richard Bach
Musicians: Alanis Morissette, Loreena McKennitt
Art: Pre-Raphaelite Art
Role-Playing Games
When I have submitted a piece or two, I think it might be fun to have a go at doing some sub-editing, wo will be dropping the goodly people a line!
