Hi Cass,
Here are some pages to help you find out about the h2g2 University Project. I believe your Entries are sufficient that you can apply, and you will receive a Field Researchers Badge for your PS should you complete the project.
Btw.. It isn't really time related - at least I don't think so
A338958 - The h2g2 University
A540299 - What is a University Project?
A724493 - Faculty of History, Philosophy and Spirituality
To help you set out your application here one by Gnomon:
A13869531 - Project: Byzantium
I hope you will find the above to be of interest
regards,

Ooops! I've done my usual and managed to break a link
A13970531 - Project: Byzantium by Gnomon
I think you could set up Part One and have that going through the process and onto the Front Page, and Part Two can follow later. You can show this in your application. After all, you only get one badge
Remember, to just use facts - no conjecture and only third person references
I look forward to following you through the process.

I totally agree about getting Part One out first.. One of these days I will learn to apply the maxim of Joni Mitchell "leave them laughing when you go", and- that other performance law- leave them wanting more.

Hi Cass,
I can often suffer from information overload... Then I had to choose which bits to leave out!
Decisions, decisions!!

Hi Lil
Back from France with lots of new writing in my head for Part Two.. but determined to resist getting drawn into that too much just yet.. though inevitably I found that yesterday- catching up with threads- I kept trying out bits on the History MB.
I have, however, used the link you gave me to write down the pro-forma for submission of a project to the h2g2 University; and hope to get on with that soon.
Any thoughts?
Regards
Cass

(For the fourth time- I keep losing this message for different reasons)
Here is as far as I have got so far:
TOWARDS A VIEW OF HISTORY FOR OUR OWN TIME
CASSEROLEON
FACULTY OF HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY AND SPIRITUALITY:
14 NOVEMBER 2009: 14/11/2009
1 JANUARY 2010: 1/1/2010
ASSISTING SUB- EDITOR:
THOUGHTS ON HISTORY IN HISTORY
The aim of this project is to explore the role of history past, present and future, with the aim of establishing:-
(a) the potency of an overview of history as an empowering element in the conduct of human affairs, and
(b) some ideas of how history can further our understanding of our present challenges and the possibilities inherent in our foreseeable future.
To this end the overall project is in two parts.
This first part tries first to show how the study of historical writing has impacted on the story of the last two hundred years.
PAGES CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS:
LINK HERE.
Perhaps you could help me on a few points please?
(a) Do I have to write a cv for BIO or use my existing h2g2 description?
(b) What about the time-frame given that the initial writing and research my end is already complete?
(c) Will I have to give book references for all my quotes?
(d) Have I written enough for the description, given the fact that the first piece is a full introduction and contents?
(e) How and where do I submit it? I have looked at the Guide Entry and Peer Review submission pages.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Cass,
Good to have you back again..
a) No CV or Bio is required.
b)The time frame is only there to encourage researchers to get on with their project. It is not actually time related. As long as the Editors are happy that your work is suitable for the Edited Guide, you shouldn’t have any problem.
c)Book references for quotes are not necessary, as long as you give the name of the personal quoted.. ie: Joe Bloggs. Taken from ‘Life’s a Mystery’.
The Sub-Editor will change this if necessary. Usually we link references to certain words within the Entries themselves.
ie.. A25734323 The blue links are either Referenced Edited Guide Entries, or Referenced Sites from other web pages.
d) Yes. It’s just a quick description of your intentions. When you have completed each of your Entries, please link the pages to your faculity application ie: Winston Churchill
e) A724493 - History Faculty. You can use the drop down box on that page to complete your application.
The project must be a minimum of 5 Articles per project. Unless by two parts you mean a total of 10 or more, as in you are doing two University Projects?
You are Researcher number U11049737
I think I've replied to all your questions... lil x

Hi Cass,
You need to use the box provided in A724493
You don't need to add the Guide ML, as it's already provided in the box.
This will give you your A page

Lil
I thought that I did use that box
Has it ended up in the wrong place?

Lil
I have used the link and it says that it is the Conversation Site for the History+ Faculty.
But I am wondering whether anyone is going to be prepared to take on the Editorship of an original piece of work.
My attempts to approach publishers over the last several years have come back with the message that no editor felt able to take on my work.. It must either be rubbish, or so different at the end of a 50 year maverick project, that it is outside of other people's comfort zone.
When I started on the History Message Board I found that people did not actually read what I wrote- merely skimmed a few points- and someone kindly told me that reading my "stuff" was like being run over by a jugernaut.

Cass,
What you now have to do is create A pages for your other Entries.
One at a time, begin to write them up. When you finish each one, add them as completed works to your Uni Page.
- I haven't been able to find it, unless you have made an error when filling in your 'application'.
I shall ask the Italics to have a look for you
Once you have completed ALL your pages, a sub-editor will be assigned to check your work, add links, and then submit them for scrutiny to other sub-editors in PR.
