The Mozart Effect
JLC the TTP aka ...It's All Happening! Started conversation Sep 1, 2000
I have decided to do a research project on The Mozart Effect for my educational psychology class. Are you familiar with the theory that listening to Mozart in the womb can increase the intelligence quotient of the child. Please let me know where I can find some documented articles on this, preferabley some type of traditional media. As in Psychology Today, Newsweek etc. Sound the word for me, people might have mentioned this to you, being Mozart and all. Thanks and Worlds of Love, JLC the TTp

If you ask me, it's impossible to get reliable research on the topic, since it is impossible to create a control. Unless you clone the child. And the mother carrying the child, so that one can be subject to different musical stimuli than the other.
Even then you'd need to keep both sets of mother/child in particular surroundings, and how would you prevent other factors (such as the stress of being put in such a situation) coming into play.
But then I reckon that much of psycology is overrated.
