h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

As a newcomer to h2g2, I thought I would pose a question and observe how this thing works (the 'hands on' approach).

I am sure that there must be some researchers out there who have some weird insights into this age old question.

So which came first ?......

I'll argue if you really want.....but not about chicken and egg. You suggest a topic to argue about, and I'll argue it.

I think that the American soap Sunset Beach is a good thing and should not be dropped by Fox. Argue.

Uh oh, I'm not good on my TV shows, but what the heck?

If they want to get rid of Sunset Beach, it must be bad (since Fox's standards are pretty low). If they don't get rid of it, Fox will swirl into a path of self destruction and eventually go out of the TV business so Sunset Beach will be gone anyway. Next topic?

Hmmmm, I think I see how it works, there is a question followed by an answer, somebody then searches the web for the best definitive 'fit' and the loser changes the subject

since your here cheese and you helped me out, i think I have posted a question under how do i....

I kinda thought it would be on my home page as well (being the author) I guess I'm wrong about that, can it be incorporated here (copied?) if not anyone who knows how to make a decent chilli sauce go to the how do I ...section from the home page. Thanks

As the How do I... section is linked from the front page, it gets more traffic, so that way more people get to answer your query. However, if you post to the How do I section, it gets listed on your page as one of the forums that you have posted to anyway, so people who visit your page will still be able to see it.
BTW the chicken and egg thing was something I happened to have pointed out to me ages ago... one can't usually find the answer to specific questions using a search, and so usually one does get an argument of the point

I found out after I had made the last posting that it did appear on the bottom of my home page. I had been expecting it to be nearer my other postings that I had initiated (Discuss this entry section) . Oh well, we live and (hopefully) learn, Feel free to check my page out and see if you liven up any of the other conversations. I don't think I will chance getting into an argument with you though!
