cheers cheese, (that's not easy to type) nice to know I won't be ignored I must admit I am a little lost at the moment, does everybody just jump in and and join discussions or do people go to a chat room? most importantly am I being terribly uncool by not having a nickname, or am I, as I hoped when using my name, being sensible so people might stumble across me who may actually know me from back home.

Chat rooms? No, we have none, unfortunately . There's no messaging system, so we must post to each other's pages to communicate. You can visit forums, or you can post to others' pages, or yopu can write journal entries, or anything! If you need help understanding it all, click on the "Don't Panic" button. As for the nickname, it doesn't matter. Some of the most popular people here use their real name, while others have nicknames like me.

hmmm, I kinda got carried following links and havn't seen much of this site yet, I followed your pokemon link as my friend has it on the gameboy and followed other links and as usual ended off on a tangent and forgot all about this site. I will get around to reading the instructions no doubt but it sounds very time consuming to simply come across something that you want to join. As you no doubt know, you don't always know what to look for but are simply drawn in deeper and deeper through links untill you forget what the hell you were looking for. That is half of the fun of the internet.

Yes, I fully agree. If it weren't for following links and getting lost...everyone would only visit one site in their life.

Why, you jump in with both feet, of course!
But you probably better start paddling soon thereafter, since you never know when you're going to be landing in a hot tub, or swimming pool, or somewhere near a beach, or....
