Thought I'd pop by to say hello and invite you to join us (if you'd like to) in my h2g2 friends photo gallery. Have a look; http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F119314?thread=421977 Maybe see you there? az

Thanks Azahar,

That took some time, going through all the pics and reading the comments - better than doing the hoovering!

So now I've got to try to find a reasonable photo as well as keep track of my conversations, check out The Post, trawl through some of the more interesting archive material, update My Space - I do have mushrooms to stuff as well!

Thanks for helping out a newbie, don't know how h2g2 escaped my attention for so long - now it's taking over my life! smiley - wah

Trying to get a handle on some of the personalities and the pics helped smiley - cheers

Mushrooms to stuff! Well, I'm just back from shopping and will soon have a kilo of prawns to peel (though I do have help smiley - smiley ). Also bought a very sexy digital camera today! smiley - somersault Now I just have to figure out how to use it . . .

I forgot to mention to feel free to join in on the photo gallery thread (and no need to read the backlog!). You'll see it's a 'total drift' thread - everyone just tends to talk about whatever they feel like. And since you're a newbie it's also a nice way to meet new people here. So if you like you can just pop in and say hello and introduce yourself - you'll find everyone is very friendly there.

Aaack, I know what you mean. It's very addictive. How did you find h2g2? I came across it almost two years ago when I bought Salmon of Doubt - it was mentioned several times in the book and so I decided to check it out. And my life hasn't been the same since.

Right, off to catch up on a few threads . . .

Do you know I had a real struggle trying to recall how I did get here!

Wasn't Salmon of Doubt though (seen references to the book and will have to track down a copy - another thing on the list!)

I think it was after I posted forthcoming gigs on the BBC local radio gig guide and I don't think I was really looking for anything inparticular just exploring the major BBC site when wham! I fell into this black hole - which will teach me to look where I'm going!

Some of the best things in life happen when you're not looking for them smiley - winkeye

Friends of mine run a pub supporting live music (blues/jazz/rock), hubby used to play there regularly. The local radio announces what gigs are happening and there's also an on-line gig guide, free. Anyway they're technophobic so when I suggested that they really should advertise there I somehow got the job. Don't mind really, doesn't take long.
