The smell of Hull

Before I came here, I'd been warned that northern towns smell of fish. Nonsense, I scoffed. And I was right. But we have a different smell instead... imagine that Willy Wonka had got up and gone to work without a shower, worked for ten hours, walking around his fields of chocolate, then walked home through muddy puddles of stagnant rainwater. He takes off his boots and leaves them against the radiator to dry. *That's* the smell. I've been told it comes from Hull's chocolate factory, but I wouldn't want to eat their chocolate!

Where is he? What have the BBC done with him? They leave us, Pingu's loyal fans, hoping that he will return to bring more joy into our lives, but worried that we will never see him again. Did he burn out like so many young stars before him? Has he been squashed and recycled into part of the Wallace and Gromit set? We should be told!
If you have any information on Pingu's whereabouts, please tell me. My friends and I suffer every week, as we pick up the tv guide, hope shining briefly in our eyes... only to have that hope cruelly taken from us yet again. We cannot last much longer!
