Yes, I'd never thought that much about cling film until now. I got most of my information from an bit in New Scientist I'd sort-of remembered from a while ago. I'm in now, but I guess there's a 12-hour time difference (you're in Australia, no?)

Yes, yes I am, amd I'm obviously up way past my bedtime. But you'll be plaesed to know that I finally did the experiment. And it is both. The plastic has elastic qualities about it because of all the carbon rings and the static electrical charge will normalise on just about anything. I used a ballon held near the monitor on a string to charge the cling film up and I used a Al foil strip connected to a door frame to ensure the grounding. Anyway. I must away as it's going to be 37 deg C here today and if I don't get to sleep before the sun comes up I shan't get any. But I should like to talk with you some more sir as I don't have the foggiest where Imperial college is, but I'm guessin' UK. Any way it's good to meet you oh and my name's Adrian. Thanks seeya.

You're right about Imperial College. It's in London.

Clever, huh? You know how I know? Because whichever window you look out you can see London through it; so it must be in the middle somewhere.
