I have started a conversation concerning Entry A262289 about the 'Bunnyyip'.
It appalled me...also in the entry mention is made of the creature that is extremely sacred as to do with the Dreaming creation myth aspect.
I've explained my reasons for disliking the entry in the conversation.

I'd think of maybe writing something myself but am nervous because of previous history of my failure with the Guide.
And if I did it would be about a white English woman's encounter with such a culture and the limitations of understanding, but non the less finding something to try to understand in a limited way. I wouldn't dream of writing as an Aboriginal person might..except they probably wouldn't as they like to be secretive about important stuff.
I would make it abundantly clear the perspective the entry would be coming from.
Obviously it would be 3rd person..but maybe unavoidably a minimal amount of first.
And I'm only *thinking* about doing it..but it is a good thought.
I could maybe start to do something as an entry on my space first. It would be like a 'sketchbook' approach though trying out..and then see what you think as a possibility to submit at some point..and I'll study the guide lines first a lot more thoroughly than last time.

How about writing it as an ordinary Entry, and then submitting it to the Post? This sounds as if it would be the sort of subject that the Post welcomes.
Not that I am dissuading you from putting an Entry into Peer Review, but the Post has a very wide readership and doesn't have the hurdles that the Edited Guide does.
I hope this is helpful.

No I don't have any interest in the Post.
I'll do it on my space. But I get the feeling you *are* dissuading me. I know I don't really fit into h2g2 culture..I've known that for a long time.
If I do it I'll do it on my space and probably ask anhaga for some help. He's very knowlegeable about First Nation people in Canada..and the limitations of our understanding as white Europeans..but non the less wish to connect on some level.
He also has 25 Edited entries so is no slouch about it..

I have started working on it as an ordinary Guide Entry.
I won't be stupid about submitting it though if it isn't going to work or I can't cope.
