h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi Lanzababy.

I'm subbing your Sea Salt entry at A63783219. I'm more or less finished - just a GoogleMaps link to be added, since you talk about satellite photos of the Guérande area. My GoogleMaps isn't working at the moment, so I'll add that when it is.

The only major changes I made were:

I moved the external link to the Great Salt Lake into a reference, and made the link within the text point to the h2g2 Entry on the Great Salt Lake.

I removed the "brine extraction" link - it had lots of information about salt, but nothing about brine extraction.

I changed the wording of the 'salarium' section - the Romans didn't get paid in salt, they got paid in money which they used to buy salt.

I changed the location of Guerande from 'the Brest peninsula in Brittany' to the mouth of the Loire river. It's not in Brittany.

Oh, I meant to say, would you like to have a look at it to see that you are happy with these changes?

Thank you for all those changes Gnomon - History and Geography are my main shortcomings - glad you picked up on the French regional mistake.

As to the brine extraction link - that's a shame, it must have been changed since I linked to it - previously it was a flow diagram of brine working through the mine...oh well.

I'm still hoping to go and photograph the local salinas, but can't promise a good snapshot. It depends to a large extent on the light conditions for my point and shoot camera. (they are not open to the public and quite far from the viewpoint) If I get one, I'll let you know asap
