A note about Real Life vs cyberspace-When I first created my facebook page
I did so without consulting my wife.
She has been reading things in the media about the possible misuse of
things in facebook and asked me to delete her image from my pages.
I explained that there were certain safeguards in place but she still does not want someone she does not know seeing what she looks like.
Also her grandchildren are adopted and she does not want to aid the biological parents in knowing what they are doing.
So then, that is why my photo album from the zoo has been deleted at facebook and why in the future I probably won't refer to them, although I will still refer to my wife.

Oh, that is a sad reflection on modern life. I only allow fb friends ( who are mostly family ) access to see my photos. I suppose any of them could show other people pictures of my grandchildren - but there is no indication of where they live.
I am more worried about my first ( 'ex' as in divorced ) husband finding out anything about us, but he vanished long ago - and as far as I am concerned I hope he has passed away. The world would be a better place without him!
The laws on adoption may be different here, but I am pretty sure the natural parents give up all rights they may once have had over their children. I sympathise with your wife's feelings, as it is natural to want to protect your loved ones. Please give her my warm regards!

They do give up all rights but in the older girl's case she had been removed from the home where she spent her early childhood by the state and was actually a ward of the state for awhile before being adopted.
When she turns 18 she can choose to spend time with her biological mother but until then her parents are trying to shield her from such interaction. There are all to many cases in the US where non-custodial parents in a divorce or parents whose rights have been severed ignoring court decrees. Well, enough on this subject. I am unsubscribing so do not reply here.
