helpful (and polite) you were to me over there, I thought I would drop by here and say a more friendly hello and thank you. (OK, I was being nosey!!).
Having rummaged among your drawers, Firstly commiserations re: hubby. Not that its any of my business, but from the bits and pieces you've written it seems that you thought him a good sort.
Secondly, I have a neighbour with three bloody great buses in his front garden!!! He bought them over a year ago, to send to Africa. They're still there. I can't bring myself to say more than "You've still got your buses then?" in a neighbourly sort of way.
Thirdly I too have an over-lively mother. Fortunately I beleive strongly in slavery, expecially concerning elderly relations, so have set her to work in my shop, thinking to wear her out (81!). Unfortunately she has flourished, enjoys abusing the customers and generally causing chaos with the machinery (Tills and mother should be kept in separate rooms!). Thriving isn't the word for it. You would think (being a chemists) we could find some drugs to slow her down!! Can't be done. If you find an answer, let me know!
See you around
P

Thank you Pheroneous! and nice to meet you too. I am enjoying h2g2 a lot, it is full of surprises and interesting people. (by and large - there are some strange ones, but probably less than I would meet in the street)
Buses eh? Hmmm...still it takes all sorts. And mothers, bless them. Mine has a mission to feed me up as if I had a job labouring away and needed a zillion calories to keep my energy up.
Thanks for dropping by - hope to chat again!
