I forgot I said I would do that. Now that you reminded me I shall get onto it tomorrow and let you know. I remember you kindly gave me the information on how to do it. I got sidetracked. Is that how you say it over there? (I got distracted by something else and forgot about it) oops

Sidetracked is exactly the word. It comes from the old railroad where many tracks ran side by side. If a train got off the main line it might end up sidetracked.
