Yes, you're right, I prefer not to have pictures of me online. There's not very much that one can keep private these days, so I like to preserve what anonymity I still have. I don't, and won't, use any form of social networking for the same reason. Except here of course, where everyone is lovely.
I don't necessarily have any issues with the actual act of taking the picture (as long as people ask nicely). My issue is with the assumption that the picture taker has the right to use my image in any way they like, and freely distribute it to potentially millions of people without my permission.
