Yoo hoo... anyone home?

Just thought I'd return the favor of a visit. I brought a nice carrot cake with cream cheese icing, home-made, of course.

I hope you like it. smiley - smiley

So, you're the London expert, eh? I stayed at the Forum Hotel in South Kensington on my recent trip. Supposedly the tallest building in London. Are you familiar with it by any chance?

Oooh! Food. Have a cup of English Breakfast Tea to go with it?

No, I'm not familiar with the Forum, but I know South Kensington. In fact, I was last there on the 4th July. If you look at my journal dated 9th July you will see a link to the science museum. I was there for the opening of the new wing.

Also, next door, inside the Natural History Museum, South Kensington you could go and see a coelacanth! (Caught in the 60's and looking a bit worse for wear, but retanked a few years ago by a very good friend of mine. It's a small one, and not blue any more, but I always say hi! Lat time was 10th April.) There is a web cam inside an ant's nest in the museum too. (Is there any I don't know?)
Did you get the Big Ben Cam?

Kettle's boiled. Milk and sugar?

That's amazing, we might very well have passed each other on the street that day! We were there from the 2nd through the 9th. My memory fails me at the moment, but we were at the Victoria and Albert on the afternoon of the 3rd or 4th. That was after we spent the morning being evacuated from The British Museum. That event provided an interesting our of the basement and construction site! That was it for us for London museums, unless you want to count Vinopolis, which is more of an attraction. And we went to the reconstructed Globe Theatre, too.

I'll take my tea black, please. (Is that proper phrasing? I take my coffee black, too. But is 'plain' tea called 'black'?)

The Forum is around the block from the Gloucester Rd Station. It made it very convenient for getting around the city.

Oh, and yes, the Big Ben cam worked just fine.

It's such a pity we've only just bumped into each other here recently. It would have been very easy to meet. I was in London a few times that week. I went to the V and A recently too, you'll see the link in my journal. Also went to the Globe on a school trip last year (I teach).
Off to London tomorrow too, so I might miss the quiz (shock!) However, if you're up in the middle of your night you might spot me here:

Black tea it is. smiley - coffee
I'm hoping to win first prize in the quiz, then I'll fly over and visit all my USA h2g2 friends. There is a prize isn't there? I'm not just excercising my brain for free?

Ooh, bring Twiglets when you come. Come in the summer and we'll go to the beach. New Jersey has 127 miles of shoreline.

Sounds wonderful! Our girls could play together and we could natter on over some Twiglets.
However, I have a nasty suspicion that there isn't a huge prize for the quiz. Not even a doughnut so I hear. smiley - sadface

Without a doubt, Greebo would never let a doughnut pass out of her possession. I imagine the most we can expect is a resounding atta-girl or atta-boy for the ultimate winner. smiley - smiley

Indeed, I'm sure you do. And at the rate you're going, it's very possible.

*has another piece of cake, too*

Yum, even if I do say so myself!
