I'm not really here

you probably didn't see it.

Well done to Sunshine! It doesn't seem that long ago that she went off to uni, and now she's back! How is she settling back into life with mum? I remember that you thought she wouldn't come back, so perhaps I shouldn't assume she's back home?

smiley - run to check that email account.

Oops! You sent me one, but I'm lazy and don't always check!

Yes, Sunshine is a BSc, just like her mum. She's not back here. Once she left home in 2005, she left for good, never even returning for summers when she was a student. I probably see her about twice a year now. Neither of us are able to afford the trip.

Moonlight is off to uni this weekend, I doubt I'll see much of her again in the future either. In 3 years time, all being well, she'll be a BA.

I hope the now banned J is enjoying the new school year?

J is settled enough to go back to having to be shouted at to get up in the morning. He seems to be making friends and loves his cab driver, who is really nice (lady, like me!). Getting on with homework properly and no phone calls from school telling me he's been up to something. Which is obviously a real pleasure.

Is it weird that your girls are now going and you don't see them often? I see my parents so often as we live so close that twice a year seems like a lifetime, even when I first moved out I saw them every day (although working for my dad obviously helped!).

T&S apparently 1st, 8th or 15th October. One of the girls filming with us died in a car crash within a week and it's possible that's what's held our episode up - her parents obviously need to be considered and show they are ok with it going ahead. smiley - sadface She was the one I got on with the best.

smiley - sadface That's a shame. I did wonder what had happened, it just seemed to disappear from the Radio Times listings mid series, but that explains why.

Weird that they've left? I don't really know. They are adults and have their own lives to lead. They've both chosen to live as far away from me as they can - and as soon as they can. But after all, I brought them up to be independent! If there was more money all round then I guess we'd be able to afford to get together more often. Sunshine's student debt is something close to £15,000 I should think, and my new job actually pays less than the mortgage. Moonlight's been unemployable for most of her gap year so she hasn't saved anything and will owe about £22,000 by the time she finishes her studies.

I'm not really here

I suppose it seems weird to me as there seem to be an awful lot of 30 & 40 somethings living with parents around here. Not that I agree with it and am happy for J to sling his hook asap but I'd like to think he'd stay close enough to pop round for once a week. smiley - laugh

I forget about those debts. smiley - sadface

I'm hopeless. Only just checked that email account again and you sent me one on the 24th!! I've replied anyway, so you can see I do check it sometimes. It's just that... no, I'm hopeless. No excuses!

T+S wasn't on the 1st and Radio Times doesn't list it for next week either so maybe the 15th?

Here's hoping!

AndI never complain about late emails. I read mine quickly but take months to answer!
