The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld - contains Little Fluffy Clouds, which I still think is one of the most amazing things I've ever heard (and have to put on just after thinking about it)
UFOrb the greatest hits CD (along with a bonus remix CD)
Chill Out by The KLF. I've included this as about half of the CD was mixed by Alex Patterson of the Orb.
The Orb make electronic music which would probably come under the ambient or trance categories. Others which would be similarly categorised are Aphex Twin, Orbital, Brian Eno, William Orbit

I was given a tape of UForb by a student about 5 years ago, who knew I would like it and he was right I still play it all the time, but have no tape player in new car, just CD, so I'll have to 'upgrade' to this greatest hits you mention - it sounds brilliant. Actually as its pay day on Friday maybe I'll go for the Adventures.
The first CD I bought specifically to play in the new car was - William Orbit.
Eno of course must be older than a coelacanth by now, and I'll check out the rest soon, they sound like something I'd like.
Many thanks

Indeed Eno is getting on a bit, but his stuff from the 70's is supposed to be classic ambient - Discreet music, Music for Airports etc. and still does a lot of production work.
A couple of other tracks things to look for might be Papua New Guinea by Future Sound Of London and Pacific State by 808 State (ok so it's mostly early 90's stuff but it's still good).
More modern stuff in a similar vein would be BT or ATB (they're a bit
more dancey though).
A good website all about ambient music is http://www.sleepbot.com/ambience/ which is a listing of someones record collection with clips and info on the artists.

I'll certainly check all these out, and the web site too. Thanks
However, as I have an unexpected long drive Thursday I bought the Santana to listen to in the jams.

The latest Santana Album is supposed to be very good from what I've heard, which is people like Bob Harris and Paul Gambucinni on R2 talking about it. I'll probably go out at the weekend and buy some new CD's as I didn't last weekend - a friend came down and I didn't do the usual go to Virgin and spend moiney thing I normaly do .
If you want any more info I can normally find it out in a quiet bit of time at work - assuming it's not something I've come across before...

I have tried to find out what this 'quiet bit of time at work' phrase means, but no luck there
Actually, if you use the pop up window of users, you might find me swimming around there during the day, but sneakily!
As well as the Santana (I love the single so the rest should be good tooO I shall take stuff to sing to as I go round the M25.
Its a job interview, although I don't need a job, and there wasn't one advertised. It just sort of happened! I don't even have a CV and may I get to be 500 million years old without needing one.

The quiet bit at work is usually the bit where we're not running around like headless chickens trying to fix the broken bits
Good luck for the job interview.

Thank you! I'll find out next week when they have interviewed others for the job they actually advertised (which I can't do).
