Hello. The sad thing about extinctions is that so many things vanish without anyone noticing they were ever here. There really ought to be a system, in place world-wide, that ensures everything has at least a little attention payed to it.

I've been watching the baby panda at San Diego zoo since it was born. The internet is one way to pay attention and to raise awareness.

You're right. I see the internet as a sort of spotlight that can be shone onto issues deserving of attention that might otherwise simply slip by unnoticed. It's an interesting tool because it is focused by the weight of opinion of ordinary folk, who would otherwise have to suffer being hood-winked and cheated in silence, whether they were aware of it or not.
