How do you manage it?
Phil Started conversation Aug 2, 2001
I tried to lurk when I started my new job.
I failed.
I was just wondering how you managed it?

You noticed my lurking omnipresence. How do I manage it?
I read a lot here, follow links upon links, but rarely believe anyone wants to hear anything I have to say. (I'm pretty quiet IRL too when not working.)
I do sometimes reply to things. Then I look at the 3 buttons.

Guess which one I press most. (But not this time)

Indeed it has been noted that you can stay for a very long time in the online window (indicating some sort of activity) without posting.
I seem to concentrate on a few fora or talking with the same usual bunch of people. I have decided to branch out a bit a nd start a few other conversations and see where it goes though.

If I left everywhere I was reading I'd make the top 10 postings list everyday! (Maybe I'll do that one day and surprise a few people.)
But coelacanths are excellent lurkers after all. The BB house has been my place to hang out recently, but that's the idea isn't it. Strange that I didn't see any of the TV programme.
Branching out a bit seems like a good idea. Point me in the direction of anything interesting.

I've not really been and got involved in the BB thing. I wasn't keen on the TV show idea in the first place and that was one reason I never watched it (the other being no TV )
If I find anything interesting I'll let you know. One of the more interesting conversations I'm currently having started out talking about music, but I'm sure you'll have seen it anyway
Key: Complain about this post
